Second time around we went to participate at this tournament in France, in a place called Fenay, near Dijon (you know, were that mustard is from...) This time I had ambitions of winning the tournament and our team was ready!!! We got there on friday for a 3 day baseball marathon with 6 games programmed. A bad start was what we did not need and it was what happened because we faced an Austrian team who played good baseball and beat us at the end 5-3 (we led this game). That evening we went out for dinner and got ripped of, even though my 750gr steak was pretty good. We fooled around and even sang with helium, so we sort of emptied the restaurant.... OOOOOOOPPPPSS! Saturday we had 3 games and once again a close 1st match got us too a bad start. We played realy well, and according to a time rule we should have won, but the umpire fucked us over and kept the game going and we could not close the deal. From that moment on, with injuries and close losses, it was all down hill. At night we went out for dinner and some of us got served ba a realy cute waitress while others delighted themselve on some french fine cuisin e at McDonalds! Then we went out to Dijon for beer and got home at differnet time cause some of us, me included just could not anymore... Sunday came and we just could not wait to play those 2 games and get that over with. All hurt and in bad shape it was difficult to keep on playing but we did and tied one game and beat the home team to finish our HUGE weekend. I would like to thank my guys for having left their hearts, lesg and arms on the field. I promiss next year we will do better!

Here is a nice story... you know those reality tv shows about stars and stuff?! Well, I took a friends girlfriend to a casting for one of them in Lyon, France. It was a fun day with lots of good food and alot of driving. The girl did not get chosen but the experuence was worth the trip.

A great weekend, with friends and LOTS of sport. We went to Dijon, France with the team representing our league.

Friday, we played two games against dutch teams. Won 1 and lost the second. That night we went out to eat meat and then bowling until 2am.

Saturday, was a long day. We lost our 3 games. That night we went out in Dijon and I had another steak (the price is half of what you pay in Switzerland)

Sunday, I refereed the final and then we played a great game. We ended up being 5th out of 6 teams but I believe our team played well all weekend long. I am looking forwards to next year!! Good job team!

At the end of the weekend, I was voted "Best Batter" of the tournament. A great honor which I proudly share with the other players.

Our league has decided to represent itself at international tournaments around Europe. This was our first and we didn't do that bad (4th out of 6)
